⏱ 7-9 seconds.
That’s how long recruiters spend looking at your CV.
(And that’s if it makes it past the AI filters.)
Your CV doesn’t get read.
It gets scanned.
Which means:
- Clear
- Relevant
- Well-structured
…or it’s probably getting skipped.
Some of the common mistakes I see:
Too vague?
“Hit targets” doesn’t cut it.
➡ Be specific. Add numbers.
✅ “Achieved 120% of quarterly sales target, generating THB 14.2M revenue”
Too long?
5-page CV? No one’s reading it.
➡ Aim for 2–3 pages.
If you’re early career, even shorter.
Not tailored?
One generic CV for every job = wasted effort.
➡ Tweak it for each role. Use relevant language.
No impact?
Listing responsibilities isn’t enough.
➡ Show results.
✅ “Launched new feature → reduced downtime by 20%”
Missing soft skills?
It’s not just about what you built.
➡ Did you lead? Mentor? Work cross-functionally?
Hard to skim?
Bad formatting = instant rejection.
➡ Clean layout. Bullet points. White space. Make it easy.
Boring intro?
“Motivated professional…” = scroll.
➡ Lead with value. What do you bring?
Unnecessary info?
You don’t need to share your height, weight, religion, or photo.
➡ This isn’t a passport form.
Basic errors?
Typos. Wrong dates. Outdated contact info.
➡ Still happening. Still hurting good candidates.
Your CV is your first impression.
Make those few seconds count.
